We Want to See Your Sweet Life

Hi I'm Catie Curtis and my new CD, Sweet Life, is now out on Compass Records.

To celebrate, Compass Records has offered to provide the title track as a free download so that YOU, any one of you, can make your own video of your own Sweet Life! Yep, it's a contest. We want to see your creative visual take on this tune. We are not necessarily looking for perfection here-- creativity and charm go a long way with us. If you can make a slide show, make a slide show. If you can put together a 3-camera edited film shoot, knock yourself out.

The winner for "best" video will receive from a Flip Mino Camcorder a signed acoustic guitar. "Catie's Choice" will receive a Flip Mino Camcorder. The winning video will appear in PasteMagazine.com, CurveMagazine.com and on Catie's website.

CONTEST ENDS OCTOBER 10th, 11:59pm CST. Winners will be announced in the October Compass Records Group eNewsletter (return to the home page to sign up), on the Compass Records website and on Catie's site on October 14th.

Void where prohibited by law. No purchase is necessary in order to enter or win. By submitting a video for the Contest: (1) Entrant represents and warrants to Sponsor that he/she has obtained all necessary licenses, consents, waivers, releases, authorizations and/or permissions to post or transmit the entry video; (2) Entrant represents and warrants to Sponsor that the video does not constitute or contain any confidential information and is free of any claims of proprietary or personal rights; (3) Entrant agrees that such video is original with Entrant and that Entrant owns all right, title and interest in the video and photographs, video footage or other elements Entrant includes in the video; (4) Entrant hereby irrevocably assigns and transfers to Sponsor any and all rights, title and interest in his or her entry, including, without limitation, all copyrights, and agrees to waive all moral rights in such entry, and grants to Sponsor and its affiliated entities and licensees an irrevocable, worldwide, exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, transmit, publicly perform, and publicly display Entrant’s entry video (in whole or part) in any and all media, without compensation, notification, approval or any other obligation, to anyone, including Entrant; (5) Entrant waives all intellectual property rights, privacy/publicity rights or other legal or moral rights that might preclude Sponsor’s use of any entry video, and agrees not to sue or assert any claim against Sponsor for the use of such video entry; and (6) Entrant acknowledges and agrees that Entrant may be required to provide documentation in a form acceptable to Sponsor evidencing each of the rights described above. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject, disqualify, modify, edit, and revise any videos or related materials that are deemed obscene, defamatory, profane, false, misleading or deceptive, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, or that Sponsor believes may violate any applicable law or regulation or the rights of any third party. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to verify any element of any entry or related materials and to disqualify any entrant whose participation may subject the contest, Sponsor, or Sponsor's advertisers, clients, or customers to controversy, negative publicity, scorn, or ridicule. Sponsor further reserves the right to disqualify and remove any entry that infringes or violates any party's intellectual property rights, including, but not limited to, using third-party copyrighted materials or the names or likenesses of others without appropriate permission and attribution, using third-party trademarks without appropriate permission or attribution, and using or distributing third-party information (whether or not protected as a trade secret) in violation of a duty of confidentiality. JUDGING: On or before October 14, 2008, a panel of judges selected by Sponsor, including Catie Curtis, will judge eligible entries on the basis of [originality, creativity, artistry and effective communication of the themes of the Recording]. One (1) Grand Prize Winner and one (1) Catie’s Choice Winner will be determined by the judges. Each winner will be notified via email message to his or her YouTube Account. Decisions of judges are final and binding in all respects. PRIZES: The Grand Prize Winner will receive Flip Mino camcorder, retail value approximately $180, and an acoustic guitar autographed by Catie Curtis, retail value approximately $300. The Catie’s Choice Winner will receive a Flip Mino camcorder, retail value approximately $180. All expenses incurred in creating and submitting entries are the responsibility of the Entrants. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prizes (or portions thereof) of equal or greater value if prizes (or portions thereof) cannot be awarded as described. Sponsor will determine all elements of prizing in its sole discretion. Prizes may not be assigned, transferred, changed or redeemed for cash. Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee express or implied. Sponsor disclaims all and any liability for the actual provision, quality or nature of any third party product or service accepted by the winners. Sponsor is not obligated to use any of the above-mentioned information or materials, but may do so and may edit such information or materials, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, without further obligation or compensation. Except where prohibited by law, potential winners will be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Ownership, Liability Release, Publicity Release and Copyright Assignment within three (3) days of notification or the entry with the next highest score may become an alternate winner.
