Compass Records is thrilled to announce the signing of bluegrass family band, The Chapmans. Their Compass Records debut, Grown Up, will be released in the spring of 2010.

Compass Records GRAMMY Award nominations

Compass Records would like to congratulate all of our 52nd annual GRAMMY nominees!

Alison Brown is nominated in the category of Best Country Instrumental Performance for the track "Under the (Five) Wire" from The Company You Keep.

Celtic duo Liz Carroll and John Doyle’s Double Play is nominated in the category of Best Traditional World Music Album.

Jeff Coffin for his involvement with Dave Matthews Band’s Big Whiskey And The Groogrux King, which is nominated in the categories of Best Rock Album and Album of the Year. Coffin has been a touring member of DMB since 2008.

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards are scheduled to air live from Los Angeles on CBS on January 31, 2010.


Martin Simpson nominated a record six times for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards

Martin is over the moon to have been nominated a record SIX times in the 2010 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards!  "True Stories", released earlier this year has been a huge success with fans and critics alike and it’s wonderful to have that recognition in the run up to the Award’s ceremony itself. The winners will all be announced on Monday February 1st 2010, at the glitzy ceremony at The Brewery in London, with the highlights being broadcast in a special Mike Harding Show on Radio 2 on Wednesday February 3rd.

Martin has been nominated for:
Folk Singer of the Year
Musician of the Year
Best Album - ’True Stories’
Best Traditional Track - ’Sir Patrick Spens’
Best Original Song - ’Home Again’ and also for ’One Day’, co-written with Martin Taylor.

Martin said earlier "I am totally delighted by these nominations and particularly touched for the nomination of the song, ’One Day’, which I co-wrote with Martin Taylor. I’m really looking forward to attending the Awards ceremony in February and am completely excited at the response to my past and current work."
