Altan was honored by the Donegal County Council for their contribution to traditional Irish music as global ambassadors for Donegal for the past 30 years.
The council held a civic reception at the County House in Lifford on May 21st where the band was presented with an official scroll and commissioned painting by Irish artist Fiontan Gogarty, then proceeded to perform a few songs in the Council Chamber.
