Alison Brown, Steve Martin, Sierra Hull, and more collaborate on “Foggy Morning Breaking”

On “Foggy Morning Breaking,” Alison Brown tips her hat to two of the most influential banjo players of the 20th century: the legendary John Hartford, from whom she borrows the title and the father of bluegrass banjo, Earl Scruggs, whose classic tune “Foggy Mountain Breakdown” the title riffs on. The tune features musician/actor/author Steve Martin, a longtime collaborator, who co-wrote the tune with Brown. The pair are joined by two-time GRAMMY-nominated virtuoso Sierra Hull on mandolin, three-time GRAMMY-winner Stuart Duncan on fiddle, GRAMMY-winning Punch Brothers’ Chris Eldridge on guitar and two-time GRAMMY-winner Todd Phillips on bass.
