Congratulations to all of our Compass Records 2016 IBMA nominees

Compass Records is pleased to announce a bevy of IBMA nominations of their roster artists and band members.

Most exciting is viral phenomenon “Fireball” which racked up over 100,000 views on Facebook and two nominations for Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year and Recorded Event of the Year.  The track, produced by Compass co-founder Alison Brown, was included on Special Consensus’ most recent album, LONG I RIDE, and features scorching performances from label mates Brown, Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley.
Special Consensus picked up an additional nomination in the Recorded Event of the Year category for “Highway 40 Blues”, their collaboration with Della Mae.

Ten time IBMA winner and viral star (6 million views for his backstage performance of “Jerusalem Ridge” on Inspire More), Michael Cleveland picked up another nomination for Fiddle Player of the Year.

On the heels of his current release FAMILY, FRIENDS & HEROES, Frank Solivan and band received 5 nominations including Instrumental Group of the Year, Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year for “Cazenovia Casanova” with Sam Bush and Jerry Douglas, Recorded Event of the Year for his collaboration with Del McCoury on “Pretty Woman”, Mandolin Player of the Year, and for his bandmate, Mike Munford, a nod for Banjo Player of the Year.

Also, in the banjo category, Noam Pikelny picked up another nomination for Banjo Player of the Year.

In the individual categories, Missy Raines was nominated for Bass Player of the Year and Rob Ickes and Andy Hall (The Infamous Stringdusters) were both nominated for Dobro Player of the Year.

Three time IBMA Female Vocalist Claire Lynch received a nod for Female Vocalist of the Year. The nomination comes in anticipation of her upcoming album NORTH BY SOUTH slated for a September 16th release.
